Immerse yourself in science at a Midnight Magic Camp-in! Camp-ins present an opportunity for Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, schools and other groups to experience the Louisville Science Center like never before. The camp-in is a fun-filled scientific adventure that begins at 6:30 p.m. and continues until 9 a.m. the next morning.
Campers explore interactive exhibits, do hands-on lab activities, go on a flashlight scavenger hunt and view a spectacular film in the IMAX Theatre.
The camp-in is for children grades 1-5, along with their adult leaders. The Science Center reserves the right to cancel sessions that have insufficient enrollment, in which case a full refund will be issued.
Leader Information
YOUR ROLE AS A LEADER
We ask that adult leaders be responsible for the behavior management of their group. The Louisville Science Center staff is responsible for the educational aspects of the program only. A 1:8 adult/child minimum ratio is required. To ensure that everyone has the best camp-in experience possible, at least one adult from your group must be present with your campers at all times during the program. Please be aware that the Science Center is open to the general public during camp-ins until 9:00 p.m.
MIDNIGHT MAGIC LEADER ORIENTATION
Prior to your Midnight Magic weekend, there will be an orientation for group leaders. This orientation is designed to help your understanding and involvement in the program and to ensure the maximum benefit for the campers.
During this time, leaders will receive information regarding logistical details such as parking, meals, etc. and will be given a tour of the Science Center and a walk-through of this year’s program. If the group leader cannot attend the Orientation session, it is recommended that another adult attend in their place.
